Christmas Food Review at Flavours Cafe, Awana Genting

Christmas is just 3 days away! I was so happy that last week, we went to my favourite Resort Genting Highlands, and I get to do my first food review at Flavours Cafe, Awana Genting Highlands.

There are lots of nice food that I like in the menu.

The cafe is right next to the swimming pool, I wished I brought my swimming suit to swim here after a meal!

This is the food in the special Christmas Even Menu 24 Dec from 6pm onwards. Anyone can come here and order this!

The first dish is called Salmon, Crab & Avocado Timbale Garlic, Pickle Ginger & Arugula With Olive Oil, Fresh Lemon Juice & Dijon Mustard Dressing.

It looks beautiful, but I had to mash it up to eat it. I love the salmon the most, the chef said this is cured salmon. The avocado makes my tongue numb, and I did not try the arugula because I don’t like raw leaves! However, the adults love it a lot, they say it is healthy and can make me grow taller. This dish also got crab meat inside, I like that a lot too.

The second dish is soup, called Leek & Spinach Soup, Creamy Duo Types of Soup.
My mum says this tastes just like my favourite mushroom soup, but the name is Leek and Spinach so I was a bit scared. I tried to eat only the cream part and not touch the green part, until my mum told me to mix it together so I just try.

Amazingly, it tasted yummy! I love it and I’m happy that I can be strong like Popeye after eating this soup.

For the next dish we can choose the Roasted Turkey or Lamb Crown, Accompanied by Burned Brussels Sprout with Anchovies & Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Cranberries, Gilbert Gravy & Lamb Jus. Lucky for us, we get to taste both, I shared the dish with my mum.

First I tried the Roasted Turkey. I really love to put a lot of the sauce and jam on the turkey as it is so sweet. This dish make me so full as it is meat and give me protein, yes I know my five food groups very well.

After that, we ate the lamb crown, at first I really don’t know what is lamb crown, is it a lamb wearing a crown? Of course not, this is the part of rack of lamb that when they are cooking it, they tied it together in a circle to look like a crown. However, when it is served, it is just a small part of that.

I enjoyed this dish so much because I can eat it like a meat popsicle! It is very delicious, very soft and tasty.

For dessert, we had Chocolate Mousse and Cappuccino Ice-Cream in Shooter. I love chocolate and I love ice cream but I cannot finish the chocolate mousse as I was so full.

The adults choose to end their meal with coffee or tea…but I think I shouldn’t drink too much coffee.

There is a Italgelato bar here so instead I ate some gelato chocolate ice cream, so cold and nice!

Here is the man who cooked for us, Chef Rashid Hashim. I really love his cooking, I wish we can eat again this Christmas Eve.
