Christmas Food Review at Bubbles & Bites, Maxim Hotel Genting

After our first food review for breakfast at Flavours Cafe, Awana Hotel Genting, we waited for the shuttle bus and went back up to Genting Highlands Maxim Hotel to visit Bubbles & Bites.  I love the purple theme in this restaurant as it is my mum’s favourite colour. There is also a special 4 course menu just for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I was very full from the previous breakfast, but I was able to eat more here. Do you think I will like the food?

The meal start with the Parmigiana with Stuffed Cheese Tomato served with Balsamic reduction and garden salad, which my mum say is lasagna. It looked like a lot of vegetables to me, but later I was told this is vegetable lasagna. There is cheese and chicken ham inside, that is the thing I like about this dish. I actually dislike vegetables, but the vegetable like the eggplant is very thinly sliced and soft, I can pretend that this is really lasagna.

Bubbles & Bites where we sat has sunlight coming in from the big side window, very nice for me to do some drawing. Can you guess what is this building I drew? I saw it at Flavours Cafe earlier.

For the second dish, it is soup again, this is Gazpacho with pesto oil. It looks like tomato and carrot soup, which I actually like but you know, this soup is a little too spicy for me, if you love spicy you will like it like the adults. I was told that they put Jalapeno inside, no wonder it is spicy. Not like normal soup, this one is actually cold. They put it in the fridge before serving us. Again they put avocado, I love it when I was a baby, but now, I just let my mum eat it. It’s supposed to be super healthy, can make my skin smooth they told me.

The main dish is Pan­seared Turkey Mousseline, served with slow braised fennel, butternut mashed and spice cranberry sauce. Where is the turkey? Actually it is made into like sausage…

This is my favourite dish! I can finish it without any problem because I love the turkey and I love the mashed butternut which tasted just like mashed potato. They also put my favourite cranberry jam, so nice and sweet, suit my taste.

Finally we have dessert, and we have ice cream! I was very happy to see ice cream. This is Christmas pudding served with a macaron filled with vanilla ice cream and vanilla sauce.

I like this a lot, did you know that after I mixed the macaron with the ice cream my whole plate turned pink? It was very funny right?
